About Upper Arlington Crew
Upper Arlington Crew, Inc. (UA Crew, Inc.) is a not for profit Ohio corporation exempt from federal income tax as a 501(c)(3) organization. The purposes of the corporation are:
To provide rowers and coaches with the proper equipment and financial resources to field a competitive crew team;
To raise funds to cover capital expenditures and operational expenses;
To assist and provide support for the Upper Arlington High School crew program;
To own and maintain any assets acquired;
To be a part of and support local and national rowing organizations; and
To promote the Upper Arlington High School crew program in the community.
The corporation currently owns more than $250,000 in assets – boats, oars, launches, cox boxes, safety equipment, motors, etc. – and is more than a booster organization. Running the organization in a fiscally sound manner, acquiring and maintaining equipment and facilities, and planning for the future requires the active support and involvement of all rowers and parents. The responsibilities are many, but when everyone does at least a little, no one becomes overwhelmed. Without the support of the parents, there simply would be no crew team!
The organization is managed by its Trustees, with the help of a Board comprised of the Trustees, committee chairs, and Coaches.
